Welcome to the Pend Oreille County Treasurer's Office 

Mission:
The mission of the Treasurer's office is to manage and safe keep public funds while providing excellent customer service in an honest, courteous, and professional manner.

Duties of the Treasurer:
The Pend Oreille County Treasurer plays a major role in the operations of local government. The treasurer is the custodian of all funds for the county, special purpose districts, and junior taxing districts.

Primary Responsibilities:

Bill, collect, and distribute property taxes and special assessments for all districts, cities and state.

Receipt and disburse funds for federal, state, county, cities, junior tax districts, and special purpose districts.

Manage cash flow of the county and invest funds not needed for immediate expenditures for all districts.

Responsible for monthly balancing and reporting to all districts.

Conduct tax foreclosure and tax title sales.

Redeem all county, port district, and school district warrants and maintain listings of registered warrants.

Involved in authorized bond sales of school districts and other units of local government.

Administer short and long term debt financing.


Issue mobile home moving permits.

Act as an agent for the state Department of Revenue in the collection and disbursement of real estate excise tax for real estate and mobile home sales.


Coordination of banking services and financial planning within and between the county and various taxing districts.
