 In June of 2007 Pend Oreille County was awarded a grant from the Dept. of Ecology to update the County's Shoreline Master Program. It is very important to have public involvement of this process. This website will be used as a repository for:

Revised Shoreline Master Program
Adoption Schedule
The following is a brief summary of the schedule and steps for the adoption of the updated Pend Oreille County Shoreline Master Program. Please note that all dates are esitmates and subject to change. Please check the County website for the Shoreline Master Program at http://www.pendoreilleco.org/county/shoreline_master_program_update.asp or call the Community Development Department at 509-447-6457 for the most recent information on deadlines for public comments as well as the dates, times and locations of upcoming meetings.
Local Adoption: The Board of County Commissioners adopted the Shoreline Master Program on Oct. 30th, 2012
Ecology Submittal: County Staff will be preparing a complete submittal packet and sumittal the Shoreline Master Program on November 16th.
Ecology Review: Ecology initiated a 45 day public comment period on April 15th. For more information on how to comment go to: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/sea/shorelines/smp/mycomments/PendOreille.html
Shoreline Master Program Implementation: The Shoreline Master Program and associated regulations will not go into effect until 14 days after the State adopts the program.
