What are the Treasurer's office hours?
We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. We are open during the lunch hours unless we are short-staffed. Please see the posted holiday schedule for days that we are closed.
Where is the Treasurer's office located?
We are located on the second floor of the Pend Oreille County Courthouse at 625 W. 4th St. in Newport, Washington. Contact our office if you need further directions.
Tax bill are mailed annually, generally within the month of February. However, tax bills may be sent later than February if there is a delay in receiving the tax rolls from the County Assessor.
You may make your payment in person or mail your payment. An official Post Office postmark determines the payment for all mailed payments. If you are sending your payment by air express or similar service, the Treasurer's Office will verify a "sent date" with the carrier in the event that it is necessary.

Yes. Property taxes may be paid online or by telephone with a credit card through Official Payments Corporation. You will need your parcel number, tax payment amount, the jurisdiction code (5677) and your credit card.
Official Payments accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. If paying by telephone, call 1-800-272-9829. If paying online, go to www.officialpayments.com.The Official Payments Corporation website may also be accessed through the tax receivable area of the Treasurer's Property Search site.
Official Payments Corporation charges a nominal fee for this service.

Yes, you may pay any delinquent year in full, with interest and penalty, without paying the current year.

If I don't pay my first half taxes by April 30, do I have to pay my taxes in full?
No. You may pay your first half taxes, with interest and penalty calculated on the full year's taxes, through October 31.

I don't have enough money to even pay half of my taxes. Can I make a partial payment?
No. Washington state law (RCW 84.56.020) does not allow the Treasurer to accept partial payments.

Why haven't I received my tax statement yet?
The Treasurer's office may have an incorrect mailing address, a mortgage company may be paying your taxes through a reserve account, or we may be holding the statement for an adjustment that needs to be made prior to mailing (i.e. senior or disability exemptions).
Contact the Treasurer's office to verify your information if you have not received your statement by mid-March.

How do I change my address?
Address changes must be in writing and may be done by mail, in person, or by email. Please include the property owners contact information and also the tax parcel numbers with the request.

My mortgage company no longer pays my taxes.
Contact the Treasurer's office with the correct address. If your mortgage company has not forwarded your statement to you, you will need to request a duplicate statement. It is the responsibility of the property owner to provide the change of taxpayer information to the Treasurer's office. Do no assume that your mortgage company will provide this information to the Treasurer's office on your behalf.

Yes. This program is administered by the Pend Oreille County Assessor's office. All question or requests for information should be directed to the Assessor's office at (509) 447-4312.
