Mission Statement
Pend Oreille County Counseling Services strives to provide quality integrated behavioral healthcare (mental health and chemical dependency), and supportive services for adults, adolescents, children and families of Pend Oreille County. We promote the values of consumer driven recovery, resiliency and self-determination and are committed to working collaboratively with consumers, families and varied community partners in the provision of outpatient, crisis, prevention and psycho education services.
Counseling Services administers the County's Developmental Disability, Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Prevention programs - See links to the right to access more detailed information of each program.

April, 2013 Marks the 27th
ALCOHOL AWARENESS MONTH
Each April since 1987, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD) sponsers NCADD Alcohol Awareness Month to increase public awareness and understanding, reduce stigma and encourage local communities to focus on alcoholism and alcohol-related issues. This years theme "Never Too Old to Play" encourages older Americans to stay engaged, active and involved in their own lives and in their communities. Recovery

Although September is Recovery Month, Recovery is a lifelong journey. Recovery Month promotes the societal benefits of prevention, treatment, and recovery for mental and substance use disorders, celebrates people in recovery, praises the contributions of treatment and service providers, and promotes the message that recovry in all its forms is possible. Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover.
