Pend Oreille County District Court handles misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases filed by the State of Washington, Pend Oreille County, and the cities of Newport, Ione, Metaline and Metaline Falls.

All criminal cases are set before Judge Philip J. Van de Veer.  Douglas Lambarth serves as a pro tem judge when Judge Van de Veer is unavailable.  Chris Bajacaliev and Tim Trageser also serve as judge pro tem.
