Communications Fire

 

                                                               Fire

Fires are grouped into seven different classifications in the communications center. The Fire classifications are:

  1. Structure - this may include for example a chimney fire or an appliance fire
  2. Vehicle
  3. Timber
  4. Grass/Brush
  5. Electrical
  6. Hazmat - this may include any of the above if dangerous chemicals are involved
  7. Illegal Burns - burning without a permit, burning during a closed period or in violation of established regulations

Important facts you should tell the dispatcher...

  1. How did the fire start?
  2. Is everyone safe?
  3. Does anyone need Medical attention?
  4. What other flamable materials may be near.....ie, cars, other homes, garages etc?
  5. What color of smoke do you see?
  6. Do you smell any chemical odor?
  7. Are there any animals in danger?
  8. How big is the fire?
  9. High winds & direction.
  10. Special directions to reach difficult locations.
  11. Updates about the fire.
  12. Did you see/hear anything suspicious; a vehicle or person in the area or leaving the area;kids running from the scene?

FD4-Sacheen Lake Area

FD5-Mid County, North of Cusick

FD6-Furport Area, Leclerc Rd S

FD8- Scotia/Spring Valley.

Newport Fire Department - Cities of Newport and Oldtown, Idaho

Cusick Fire Department - Town of Cusick

Ione Fire, Metaline Fire and Metaline Falls Fire - Cover their own Towns respectively

Kalispel Fire Department - Kalispel Tribe of Indians
