Communications Center Tour

Communications Terminal
In the communications center there are four access terminals that serve as hubs for 911 calls and Radio Transmissions. These points of access are sophisticated computer systems that utilize many computer programs and operations. Each terminal utilizes CAD(Computer Aided Dispatch), a phone/mapping program and a radio communications system. The programs used are great tools that aid in giving an optimal level of service to the public. For these sophisticated programs to work we rely upon an exceptional staff to operate them.
Communications Terminal
The Operators of the Communications Center terminals operate as a team to manage the incoming 911 calls and the radio traffic of responding emergency units. The communications terminals in the photographs receive incoming 911/emergency phone calls and the operator then enters the information into the CAD(Computer Aided Dispatch) system. Once the information is received the operator of the Communications terminal will broadcast the information to emergency responders. Teamwork and proper communication help the telecommunicators to give the highest level of service possible.
