Pend Oreille County Noxious Weed Control Board

There are two open, four-year term, non-paid positions, Newport (District #2) and Metaline (District #5) on the Pend Oreille County Weed Board.  If you are interested in serving on this Board complete the Application for Appointment on the County Web Site or contact the Commissioners office at 625 W 4th St., P.O. Responsibilities:

·       Develops & manages weed board policy

·       Adopts the county weed list which identifies mandatory control weeds

·       Reviews and oversees annual budget

·       Responds to community inquiries or complaints

·       Holds public hearings on new weed policy

·       Meets monthly

Qualifications:

·       Live and own property in the district you are representing

·       Preference is given to people who make their living in agriculture & who are committed to the volunteer spirit
